MEET THE TEAM

Empower Youth Zones is the charity that oversees the creation, management and sustainability of Youth Zones in Manchester and Salford. These include HideOut Youth Zone located in Gorton, East Manchester which opened in 2020 and SYZ which will open in 2025.

Empower Youth Zone has an executive team that oversee the two sites. Meet the Empower Executive Team.

As the Youth Zone develops physically throughout the construction phase ready for opening in 2025, the Youth Zone team needs to grow too. Over 2024 we will be recruiting various roles needed to make a Youth Zone work. From Senior Leadership roles, roles in finance, operations and catering roles, and of course… youth workers!

JOANNE WHITTAKER

CHAIR

Joanne is the Founder and Director of Fideliti Childcare Vouchers, Angel Advance and Workplace Finance. Joanne has a keen interest in creating opportunities for young people and looks forward to leading the Youth Zone to success for the benefit of the community in East Manchester. Joanne has been working with Fred Done for almost 20 years and is delighted to be involved in this exciting new project which Fred has made such a generous donation to.
