The Youth Zone Network

Empower Youth Zones is the charity that oversees the creation, management and sustainability of Youth Zones in Manchester and Salford.

These include HideOut Youth Zone located in Gorton, East Manchester which opened in 2020 and Salford Youth Zone located in Pendleton, Salford which is due to open to young people in Spring 2025.

HideOut and Salford Youth Zones provide children and young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs with somewhere safe to go, something position to do and someone trusted to talk to.

Youth Zones are purpose-built spaces fizzing with energy, and crammed with incredible facilities. They are staffed by skilled and dedicated Youth Workers who truly believe in young people – helping them see what they could achieve, and giving them the skills, confidence and ambition to go for it.

This is life-changing support that helps tens of thousands of young people from a diverse range of backgrounds to thrive.

OnSide is a national charity which fund, build, launch and support a network of Youth Zones in the UK.

Developed by the charity OnSide, all Youth Zones have the same mission: to provide young people with the opportunity to shine and fulfil their potential.

Between the Youth Zone Network, OnSide support 50,000 young people nationwide through the 15 Youth Zones… with even more Youth Zones in the pipeline. Over 50,000 young people are members of the OnSide Network, currently in areas including: Barking and Dagenham, Barnet, Bolton, Blackburn, Carlisle, Chorley, Croyden, Manchester (Harpurhey and Gorton), Oldham, Warrington, Wigan, Wirral and Wolverhampton. As the OnSide Network grows together, it works together. We support each other by sharing ideas, learning from each other about what works for young people and by championing the power of youth work locally, regionally and nationally.
