How do I become a member?

Become a member of Salford Youth Zone by filling out the membership form here.

It is 50p every time you visit and each session, you get a free hot meal made by our amazing Catering Team!

Salford Youth Zone is open 7 days a week, all year round. To see what sessions are on – check out more about our offer here.

There are different sessions on each day. Our Junior session is open to all members aged 8-12. Our Level Up session is open to all members aged 11-14. Our Senior session is open to all members aged 13-19 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs).

Salford Youth Zone is a purpose-built facility offering 20 activities every session, including sport, fitness, dance, arts, music, media and self-improvement.

The Youth Zone includes a four-court sports hall with facilities for indoor badminton, football, netball and basketball and a separate climbing wall. There is also a fitness suite with the latest gym equipment and an outdoor kick pitch.

Juniors (ages 8-12) who enter and exit the premises are monitored and must be collected by a parent/guardian. If you give consent for your child to walk home by themselves, please let a member of our reception team know.

Seniors (ages 13-19 or up 25 with additional needs) are free to leave the Youth Zone whenever they like, unless their parent/guardian lets our reception team know otherwise.

We operate the same as any other activity centre. There is small risk with any adventure activity that young people partake in when at the Youth Zone. To ensure risks are managed, each area is manned by a member of staff – meaning that young people in each area are supervised at all times. The safety of our young people is paramount, therefore all activities throughout the Youth Zone adhere to our Risk Assessments.

We have barriers at the entrance of the building which stops people from entering and exiting, which is supervised by the reception team. Senior members (ages 13-19 or up to 25 with additional needs) are also wanded on entrance to ensure they are not bringing in any items that they should not be bringing in.

All of our staff have a Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification and there is always someone on session who is First Aid Trained.

All children and young people are welcome at Salford Youth Zone, regardless of their needs and requirements. We have trained staff covering all our sessions so we can offer bespoke support for all the young people that attend the Youth Zone and their needs are met whilst they’re here.

Sessions are adapted for young people with additional needs and are open for a wide range of young people to access; including those with mild learning difficulties, through to those with more complex needs such as visual impairment and physical disabilities.

The building itself is accessible to all, including a lift, wheelchair access doorways, sensory room, moveable sinks and hobs in the training kitchen, and even an accessible climbing wall.

SYZ runs a session each week which is dedicated just for those with an additional need or disability. This is SYZ’s very own ‘Sunday Club’.

If you have any questions about your child’s needs, please email enquiries@empoweryouthzones.org.

There is no parking available at Salford Youth Zone, however we do have a drop off point at the front of the building.

Please do not park in front of any drives when dropping your child off.
