YOUNG PEOPLE

PROJECTS AT SALFORD YOUTH ZONE

Alongside our universal offer, Salford Youth Zone delivers a range of specialist projects throughout the year.

Projects are structured programmes that run over several weeks, giving members the opportunity to develop new skills and access personal development opportunities.

Projects explore a range of different areas across culture, heritage, and identity and often include training and insights from industry partners

JUNIOR CLUB PROJECTS

Some of the projects we are currently running on Junior Sessions include:

  • Junior Healthy Eating Project
  • Winter Workouts (13th January – 3rd February)
  • Valentines Enterprise Project

SENIOR CLUB PROJECTS

Some of the projects we are currently running on Senior sessions include:

  • Winter Weights (16th January – 6th February)
  • Seniors Cooking Project – Preparing for Independent Living (Starting on January 17th)
  • Low Light Lounge (Starting on January 23rd)

LEVEL UP PROJECTS

Some of the projects we are currently running on Level Up sessions include:

  • International Women’s Day Spoken Word Project (Starting 26th January)

INCLUSION PROJECTS

Some of the projects we are currently running as part of our Inclusion offer include:

  • Launch Pad (Running on an ongoing basis on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Junior session)

Launch Pad is is a personalised Junior programme designed to help young people get the most out of their time at the Youth Zone. Beginning and ending each session with a short check-in, we get to know each young person’s interests, strengths and goals. This allows youth workers to develop tailored session plans alongside the young person. It supports young people to build confidence, structure and meaningful engagement in a way that works for them.

  • The Sunday Press (Starting on the 1st March)

Open to both Junior and Senior young people, participants will design and create their own magazine exploring themes that matter to them – from identity and belonging to friendships, interests and wellbeing – before showcasing their complete magazine at a dedicated launch party.
